30 years of zoo collecting throughout Europe

Zoohistorica was created in 1990 by a group of European collectors of zoo literature and memorabilia. It is an annual meeting that brings together collectors of such documents from all over Europe. It takes place the first weekend of September in a large European zoo. The festivities begin Friday evening with an ice breaker where all may see again friends and exchange all the news about zoos. An exchange fair of zoo literature and memorabilia takes place on Saturday morning, then followed by a guided tour of the zoo where Zoohistorica is hold. Sunday is devoted to the visit of a second zoological collection of the surroundings.

Zoohistorica wurde 1990 von einer Gruppe europäischer Sammler von Dokumenten über Zoos gegründet und besteht in einem jährlichen Sammlertreffen. Es findet jedes Jahr am ersten September Wochenende in einem europäischen Zoo statt. Die Feierlichkeiten beginnen am Freitagabend mit einer Abendgesellschaft. Die Tausch- und Verkaufsbörse von Dokumenten über Zoos findet am Samstagmorgen statt. Anschließend wird eine Führung durch den Zoo, welcher Gastgeber der Zoohistorica ist, organisiert. Am Sonntag wird ein zweiter Zoo in der Umgebung besucht.

Zoohistorica, créé en 1990 par un groupe de collectionneurs européens de documents en rapport avec les zoos, est une réunion annuelle qui permet de regrouper toutes les personnes intéressées par ce type de collection. Elle a habituellement lieu le premier week-end de septembre dans un grand zoo européen. Les festivités débutent le vendredi soir avec une soirée d'accueil et de retrouvailles où s'échangent toutes les nouvelles informations à propos des zoos. Une bourse d'échanges de documents zoologiques a lieu le samedi matin ; elle est suivie d'une visite guidée du zoo où a lieu Zoohistorica. Le dimanche est consacré à la visite d'un second établissement zoologique des environs.
